Am HaTorah is a close-knit Orthodox synagogue where all Jews are welcome. Our membership consists of a dynamic group of thinking and talented professionals, actively engaged in understanding Torah philosophy, ethics, and concepts through open and honest dialogue.

We hold regular Shabbat and Holiday services, classes both on Shabbat and during the week, and various activities throughout the year, all of which are open to the entire Jewish community. Click here for more detailed schedule information.

Am HaTorah is affiliated with the Orthodox Union (OU) and the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington.

Our kehilla is growing and we'd love to have you join us for a Shabbos to experience the special warmth and closeness of our community!

  • COVID UPDATE: Masking and social distancing are no longer required. We will continue to hold Shabbos morning services outdoors to allow space for those who wish to maintain distance.
  • Shiva Assar b'Tamuz (Sunday June 27th): We are looking to arrange services for the fast of the 17th of Tammuz. Shacharis at 8:00 AM and Mincha/Maariv at 8:10 PM. Please contact Rabbi Singer if able to attend.
  • Am HaTorah's Annual Summer SEED Program! We are looking forward to our annual summer learning program with in-person classes and opportunities for one-on-one learning! July 16th - August 1st. Stay tuned for more details!
